15 May 2023 - Refuels N.V., one of Europe’s leading suppliers of renewable biomethane (Bio-CNG) for decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles, today published key Bio-CNG station data for April 2023.
- A total volume of 3,173 tons of Bio-CNG was dispensed from 10 public access stations in operation during April 2023. This is a 64.9% increase from 1,924 kg dispensed in April 2022 (8 stations)
- The average daily dispensed volume was 105.8 tons, a new record volume. This is an increase of 3% compared to 102.7 tons dispensed per day in March 2023. The activity was reduced due to the entire Easter holiday occurring in April, with overall lower customer vehicle utilisation.
- For the three-month period ending April 2023, a monthly average of 1,247 vehicles refuelled at ReFuels’ Bio-CNG stations, compared to 717 vehicles for the three-month period ending April 2022.
“April was a satisfactory month across our refuelling network with a steady stream of new customers as well as existing customers expanding their fleets. This was reflected in continued strong growth in dispensed Bio-CNG volumes. We are also pleased that we increasingly contribute to decarbonising trucking. Since we established our business nine years ago, we have created a new industry. To put things into perspective, this April, we dispensed more biomethane per hour from our network than we did per day in April 2017. And we are only getting started,” said Philip Fjeld, the CEO of ReFuels.
Through its CNG Fuels brand, ReFuels operates 10 public access stations on major trucking routes in the UK. Another three stations are currently under construction due for operations in the coming months and at least four further stations are commencing construction during the calendar year.
The company will provide operational updates every month, with the intention of releasing such updates 6-10 working days after the end of the month.
